Solution

Synergids:

  1. They are two haploid cells that along with the egg cell are found towards the micropylar end of the female gametophyte of angiosperm.
  2. Their function is to guide the incoming pollen tube to the egg cell.

Antipodal cells:

  1. They are three haploid cells.
  2. These cells are present at the chalazal end of the female gametophyte.
  3. The main function is to provide nutrition to the egg cell and the zygote.

After fertilization:

After fertilization, these cells degenerate.
