Question

Is the placenta attached to the mother?

Open in App
Solution

Placenta:

  1. It is an organ which develops in uterus during pregnancy.
  2. This structure provides the oxygen and nutrients to a growing baby. It also removes the waste products from baby's blood.
  3. The placenta attaches itself to wall of the uterus, and baby's umbilical cord arises from it.
  4. The placenta is then expelled from your body after the birth, usually about 5 to 30 minutes after your baby is born.
