Microvilli:

  1. Microvilli are tiny-finger-like projections that have plasma membrane protrusions.
  2. They can exist on their own or along with villi.
  3. On each of the villi, there are even smaller folds that stick out like fingers known as microvilli.
  4. Microvilli are most usually located withinside the small intestine, on the surface of egg cells, in addition to white blood cells.
  5. Thousands of microvilli form a structure called the brush border which is located at the apical surface of a few epithelial cells, inclusive of the small intestines.
  6. These are present on the intestinal mucosa and PCT (proximal convoluted tubule).
