  1. A defining feature of transcription factor(TFs) is that they generally contain at least one DNA-binding domain (DBD), which attaches itself to specific sequence of DNA adjacent to genes that they regulate.
  2. Transcription factors are the proteins involved in process of converting, or transcribing, DNA into RNA.
  3. Transcription factors includes a wide number of proteins, excluding the RNA polymerase, which initiate and regulate the transcription of genes.
