Platyhelminthes is a group of soft-bodied, usually much flattened invertebrates.
They are also known as flatworms.
Fasciola (Liver fluke) and Taenia (Tapeworm) are members of Phylum Platyhelminthes.
Platyhelminthes are divided into two lineages: Catenulida and Rhabditophora.
Flatworms are parasitic, and some of the most serious human parasites are flatworms.
Flatworms have three embryonic tissue layers that produce coverings for their tissues (ectoderm), internal tissues (mesoderm), and the lining of their digestive system (mesoderm).
