Solution

Dicot plants:

  1. Dicotyledons or Dicot is generally referred to the flowering plants or angiosperms in which the seeds typically contain two embryonic leaves or cotyledon.
  2. They develop vascular cambium and cork-cambium considerably later in their lives.
  3. The cambium separates the xylem and phloem tissues.
  4. Secondary growth of xylem and phloem tissues occurs here.
  5. Through the xylem tissue of the stem and leaves, water and dissolved mineral salts are carried.
  6. Lignin is employed to strengthen these cells for support.
  7. Water can move laterally via the perforations in the cell walls.
