Open in App
Solution

Cell wall:

  1. The cell wall encloses the plasma membrane and offers the cell tensile control and defense.
  2. The cell wall is normally found in the prokaryotes like in bacteria and in cyanobacteria, plant cells, and fungi.
  3. The cell wall is absent in the animal cells.
  4. Mucor is a fungus. Hence, its cells are surrounded by cell walls.
  5. A plant cell wall is organized into main chief layers - the primary cell wall, the secondary cell wall, and sometimes the tertiary wall.
  6. The primary cell wall is thin, and elastic, and contains cellulose, hemicellulose, pectic substances, lipids, and proteins.
  7. The secondary wall also consists of cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin, but cellulose content is higher in the secondary wall.
