  2. These cells are the defining characteristic of phylum Cnidaria.
  3. These are present on the body surface and tentacles of cnidarians for safety and capturing food.
  4. They include nematocysts, which are stinging capsules. It enables catching the prey and in defense.
  5. Nematocytes are produced via way of means of a unique cell known as a cnidoblast and consist of a coiled, hole, typically barbed thread, which speedy turns outward from the pill upon right stimulation.
  6. Mainly marine animals coming under cnidaria have cnidoblast cells.
