Solution

Codon and anticodon:

  1. A codon is a three-nucleotide or triplet sequence found on mRNA that codes for a certain amino acid during translation.
  2. The anticodon is a three-nucleotide sequence found on tRNA that binds to the corresponding mRNA sequence.
  3. The amino acid transported by the tRNA molecule is determined by the anticodon sequence.
  4. Examples of codon include alanine, valine, leucine and serine.
  5. Examples of anticodon include the codon CGA codes for the cysteine amino acid and amino acid.
