Drawbacks of MRI:

1. It is very expensive.
2. The patient usually gets uncomfortable with the procedure.
3. The scanner exposes patients to powerful electromagnets which require the scan room to be shielded.
4. The process needs patients to be packed in a metal tube-like apparatus for the complete duration of the scan which could be long at times.
5. It can be impractical for patients that are ill and cannot stay in the machine for too long.
6. The device is noisy which could make the patients fearful and anxious.
