Solution

Types of bacteriophage:

  1. A bacteriophage also referred to as a phage colloquially is a duplodnaviria virus that attacks and replicates inside bacteria and archaea.
  2. Lytic bacteriophage: It takes over the cell machinery to make phage components after which they destroy the cell so as to release new phage particles.
  3. The cell is then destroyed or lysed, and additional phage particles are released.
  4. Without harming the host cell, lysogenic phages insert their nucleic acid into the chromosome and multiply alongside it as a unit. both archaea.
  5. Temperate bacteriophage: Viruses that reproduce using both lysogenic and lytic cycles are called temperate bacteriophages.
