Question

What are the 3 blood proteins?

Open in App
Solution

Three blood proteins:

  1. Blood proteins, also termed plasma proteins, are proteins present in blood plasma.
  2. Albumin, Globulin and Fibrinogen are the 3 blood proteins.

Albumin

  1. Liver produces albumin, which is a protein. Albumin enters your bloodstream and aids in the prevention of fluid leakage from blood vessels into other tissues. It also transports hormones, vitamins, and enzymes all around the body.
  2. Some of its functions include:
    1. Extracellular fluid volume stabilization and maintenance.
    2. Fatty acids, magnesium ions, cortisol, hormones, vitamins, and medicines are just a few of the substances that it binds (phenylbutazone, warfarin, salicylates).
    3. Bilirubin (a yellowish pigment formed during the natural breakdown of red blood cells), calcium, progesterone, and other hormones are all transported by this protein.

Globulin

  1. Globulins are a kind of protein found in the bloodstream, produced in the liver.
  2. Alpha, beta, and gamma globulins are three distinct forms of globulins.
  3. Globulins are involved in liver function, blood coagulation, and infection resistance.

Fibrinogen

  1. Fibrinogen is a protein that the liver produces. This protein aids in the formation of blood clots, which helps to halt bleeding.
  2. The synthesis of fibrin, which binds platelets and certain plasma proteins in a hemostatic plug, is fibrinogen's main physiological function.
  3. The network entraps huge numbers of erythrocytes and leukocytes under pathological circumstances, generating a thrombus that can obstruct a blood channel.
