  1. Mental diseases (or mental illnesses) are illnesses that impact your thoughts, feelings, emotions, and actions.

  4. There are many different types of mental disorders. Some common ones include:
    1. Anxiety disorders-An anxiety disorder is a specific kind of mental illness. If you have an anxiety condition, you could react with terror and dread to particular things and circumstances.
    2. Depression -A mental illness called depression results in a constant feeling of melancholy and loss of interest.
    3. Eating disorders-A type of major mental health illness known as an eating disorder is characterised by severe disruptions in eating patterns as well as associated thoughts and emotions.
    4. Personality disorders-Multiple personality disorder and split personality disorder were the previous names for dissociative identity disorder.
    5. Post-traumatic stress disorder-After experiencing a surprising, terrifying, or deadly event, some persons may acquire post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
    6. Psychotic disorders, including schizophrenia-Schizophrenia is a severe mental illness in which reality is perceived by sufferers strangely.
    7. Obsessive-compulsive disorder -OCD is characterised by a pattern of unpleasant thoughts and anxieties that cause you to engage in repetitive actions . These compulsive thoughts and behaviours disrupt daily life and cause severe distress.
