  • Hexactinellida:
  1. These are glass sponges that are made up of siliceous spicules.
  2. Examples are Euplectella and Hylonema.
  • Calcarea:
  1. Calcarea is large Choanocyte cells that are made up of calcareous spicules.
  2. Examples are Leucosolenia and Sycon.
  • Demospongia:
  1. Demospongia is made up of spongin fibers or siliceous spicules.
  2. Examples are Euspongia and Spongilla.
