Triple fusion:

  1. The fusion that takes place between the two polar nuclei and the sperm nucleus is called the triple fusion.
  2. This fusion takes place at the time of fertilization in a seed plant.

Fusion in embryo sac:

There are three fusions occurring in the embryo sac as follows –

  1. The secondary nucleus is formed during the embryo sac development by fusing two polar nuclei.
  2. The male gametes get fused with the egg and give rise to the syngamy process.
  3. The fusion gives rise to a nucleus of triploid by fusing male gametes with a secondary nucleus which is termed the Primary Endosperm Nucleus (PEN).
