  1. When two or more embryos develop from a fertilized egg, the phenomenon is called polyembryony.
  2. It occurs in many plants and animals.

Two Types of Polyembryony:

  1. Induced Polyembryony: When polyembryony is induced in plants and animals for experiments, it is referred to as induced polyembryony.
  2. Spontaneous Polyembryony: When polyembryony occurs naturally in plants and animals, it is called spontaneous polyembryony.
