Solution

Types of RNA polymerases:

  1. RNA polymerase I or RNA pol I: The polymerase enzyme which transcribes the ribosomal RNA genes.
  2. RNA polymerase II or RNA pol ll: The polymerase enzyme transcribes genes of messenger RNA, microRNA, and small interfering RNA.
  3. RNA polymerase III or RNA pol llI: The polymerase enzyme transcribes genes of translation RNA and 5S rRNA.
