Tight junctions:

  1. It is a junction between the epithelial cells that are formed tightly to form an intercellular barrier that helps in the movement of particles from in and out of cells.
  2. This helps in diffusion and osmosis across the tissues.
  3. This blocks the flow of fluids between the epithelial cells
  4. Examples: Desmosomes, Gap junction.
