1. RNA was the original molecule of heredity, it developed all of the necessary mechanisms for storing and expressing genetic information before DNA.
2. The genetic information could be stored in mRNA.
3. The genetic information can be translated into proteins by tRNA and rRNA.
4. Some RNAs can even work as an enzyme to self-edit their genetic code, according to research (eg: ribozymes).
5. Single-stranded RNA is unstable and susceptible to enzyme destruction, thus DNA took over.
6. DNA emerged as a stable form of genetic information transmission.
