Heart: It is a muscular organ that circulates blood throughout the body by rhythmic contraction and dilatation.

Following are some of the diseases associated with the heart:

  1. Coronary artery disease is caused by blockage or damage to the coronary arteries supplying the heart muscles.
  2. Arrhythmia or irregular heartbeat.
  3. Congenital heart defects are those that are genetically transmitted and contracted by the individual while they are a foetus.
  4. Stroke is caused by a blockage in the coronary arteries that supply the cardiac muscles.
  5. Aortic aneurysms are bulging that form in the aorta and act as an obstruction to the flow of blood.

The causes of these diseases are high blood pressure, smoking, high cholesterol, diabetes, obesity, etc. which also result in brain damage, and other tissue complications apart from heart damage.
