Solution
Gram-positive bacteria:
These are the bacteria that test positive in the Gram stain test, which is commonly used to swiftly classify bacteria.
When Gram's stain is applied to them, they appear bluish-purple under the microscope.
This is due to the fact that they have a very thick layer of peptidoglycan and may thus retain a crystal violet stain.
Examples: Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, Enterococcus, etc.
Gram-positive bacteria have been linked to the following diseases:
Diphtheria: It is caused by Corynebacterium. Symptoms include rapid breathing, difficulty in breathing, fever, chills, tiredness, nasal discharge, etc.
Infections caused by Streptococci: Symptoms are strep throat, fever, etc.
