Cytoplasm:

  1. It is a thick solution that fills each cell and is enclosed by the cell membrane.
  2. It consists of water, salts, organic molecules, and proteins.
  3. In eukaryotic cells, the cytoplasm includes all of the material inside the cell and outside of the nucleus.
  4. The cytosol is the jelly-like mixture wherein other organelles are suspended.
  5. Each organelle has its own special membrane in eukaryotes.
  6. In the cells of prokaryotes, the organelles suspended in the cytoplasm are not bound by any membrane.
