Open in App
Solution

DNA or deoxyribonucleic acid:

  1. It is the hereditary material in all other organisms. Each cell contains DNA inside the nucleolus.
  2. The ‘D’ in DNA corresponds to Deoxyribose.
  3. It is the sugar that has lost the oxygen from the second position of a carbon atom. Hence it is called De-oxy (or without oxygen).
