  3. The hormone released from Hypothalamus is two types: releasing hormones and inhibiting hormones.

Functions of Hypothalamus:

  1. The main function of the Hypothalamus is to regulate the secretion of hormones from the pituitary gland.
  2. The hormones produced by the pituitary gland include growth hormone, prolactin, thyroid-stimulating hormone, adrenocorticotrophic, luteinizing hormone, follicle-stimulating hormone, melanocyte, oxytocin, and vasopressin.
  3. Hypothalamus also helps in maintaining homeostasis, releasing hormones, and regulating heart rate.
