  1. Epinephrine is an hormone secreted by the adrenal medulla of the adrenal gland.
  2. It causes an increase in blood pressure by causing arteriolar vasoconstriction.
  3. It causes glycogenolysis in the liver and muscles.
  4. It increases the heart rate and cardiac output of the heart.
  5. It leads to dilation of vessels of skeletal muscles, and viscera.
  6. It also relaxes muscles of the gastrointestinal tract and bronchioles of the lungs.
  7. It also acts as an emergency hormone in case of emergency.
