Question

What happens after the ovules are pollinated?

Open in App
Solution

Pollination:

  1. Transfer of the pollen grains from the male anther of a flower to the female stigma of the flower is known as pollination.
  2. After pollination, the male gametes fuse with the egg cell and form the secondary nucleus that undergoes double fertilisation.
  3. After fertilisation, the ovule then develops into a seed, which eventually encloses an embryo inside the seed coat.
  4. The ovary then develops into a fruit.
