Hormones: Hormones are secreted by specific glands so that the cells and organs can function properly.

Antidiuretic hormone:

  1. Antidiuretic hormone or ADH helps in the reabsorption of water in the kidneys.
  2. It also regulates the amount of water in the human body.
  3. By reabsorption of water, it helps in concentrating urine.
  4. A deficiency in ADH leads to diabetes insipidus whereby the reabsorption of water is affected leading to excessive urination.
