  1. Any organisms that cause social, economic, physical, or immunological harm are known as pests.
  2. Examples of pests are: Flies, rats, cockroaches, mice, termites, bed bugs, lizards, etc.
  3. The process of controlling, managing, minimizing, and removing pests from the places occupied by people is known as pest control.
  4. Some insects are used as pest control to control other harmful insects.

Insects as pest control:

  1. Stink bugs: Stink bugs are used as predators.
  2. Lacewings: Lacewings consume lady beetles which feed on mites, scales, insect eggs, mealy bugs, aphids, etc.
  3. Small wasps: Small wasps lay eggs in the insect eggs thus, decreasing the population of insects.
