Solution
Diploid life cycle:-
The type of life cycle in which an organism spends most of its life as an adult e.g., humans.
A diploid organism is one which contains two sets of chromosomes.
In this type of life cycle, the individual undergoes meiosis at the time of sexual reproduction to form haploid gametes/sex cells.
The gametes then again fuse to form a diploid zygote.
The zygote then undergoes mitosis to form two somatic cells. In this way, multiple mitotic divisions lead to the formation of an adult.
