Pathogenic Organisms:

  1. An organism such as bacteria, viruses, fungi, worms, and protozoa, responsible for causing the disease in a particular host that is in humans is known as a pathogenic organism or it is also called simply pathogens.
  2. Pathogenic bacteria Examples: Salmonella typhi causing typhoid, Streptococcus penumoniae causing pneumonia, Mycobacterium tuberculosis causing tuberculosis, Shigella, Listeria, Francisella, Legionella, and Yersinia pestis.
  3. Pathogenic virus Examples: SARS-CoV-2 causes COVID 19, Human immunodeficiency virus- HIV virus causes acquired immune deficiency syndrome -AIDS, smallpox, influenza, mumps, measles, chickenpox, and rubella.
