Two-point test cross:

  1. A test cross is done between a dominant phenotype and a recessive phenotype to estimate the zygosity of the dominant phenotype.
  2. A two-point test cross is done to calculate the recombination frequency of two linked genes.
  3. It is useful for determining the frequency of gametes produced.
  4. If there is a deviation from the classical Mendelian ratio, then we know that the two genes are linked and present on the same chromosome.
