Solution

Vegetative cell in microbiology:

  1. In microbiology, bacterias live in a vegetative state under favourable conditions.
  2. In this state, they can grow and reproduce.
  3. Few of them can also exist in endospore form when conditions become unfavourable due to lack of nutrition or harsh environmental conditions.
  4. In this form, they are unable to grow or reproduce but can help the bacteria to survive in an environment that is unfavourable for growth.
  5. When provided favourable conditions, they can again return to a vegetative state after a lag phase.
