  1. Two adrenal glands are located on the top of the two kidneys.
  2. The adrenal glands secrete adrenaline hormone or epinephrine.
  3. The function of epinephrine is to regulate heart rate, breathing rate, blood pressure, and carbohydrate metabolism.
  4. When adrenaline is secreted in large amounts it prepares our body for action.
  5. It speeds up heartbeat and breathing, raises blood pressure, and allows more glucose to get into the blood to give us a lot of energy quickly for fight or flight.
