Euthanasia:

  1. Euthanasia is also called mercy killing.
  2. It is the act of putting to death painlessly or allowing to die, as by withholding extreme medical measures when a person or animal suffering from an incurable, especially a painful, disease or condition.
  3. Euthanasia is of two types:
  1. Active euthanasia- It is an intentional ending of human life, at the request of the patient.
  2. Passive euthanasia- It is a voluntary action of removing a person's life support system and other medical equipment. It is taken in action when the condition of the patient is neither improving nor showing signs of prolonged life.
