Solution
Karyotype:
A karyotype is a number of chromosomes in a particular person.
A karyotype can be used to know the chromosomal numbers or structural problems in an individual.
There are 22 pairs of autosomal chromosomes and 1 pair of sex chromosomes (human).
Females' karyotypes are 46, XX, which has two X chromosomes; males' karyotypes are 46, XY.
Idiogram:
The diagrammatic representation of karyotype is called the idiogram.
While making an idiogram, the homologous pair of chromosomes are arranged in order of decreasing lengths.
