  3. There are 22 pairs of autosomal chromosomes and 1 pair of sex chromosomes (human).
  4. Females' karyotypes are 46, XX, which has two X chromosomes; males' karyotypes are 46, XY.

Idiogram:

  1. The diagrammatic representation of karyotype is called the idiogram.
  2. While making an idiogram, the homologous pair of chromosomes are arranged in order of decreasing lengths.
