Predation:

  1. Predation is a biological interaction of organisms in which one organism is the predator which feeds on another organism known as the prey.
  2. In this type of interaction, the predator is benefitted by feeding on the prey, whereas the prey is harmed.
  3. This type of relationship also leads to the co-evolution of both organisms.
  4. The predator derives nutrients from the prey for their survival and reproduction.
  5. For example, the polar bear is a predator which feeds on its prey i.e. seals.
