  5. Throughout the pregnancy, the uterus is kept in a dormant state.
  6. In the adrenal glands, it serves as a precursor to corticosterone and cortisol.
  7. When taken between the 5th and 25th day of the usual menstrual cycle, progesterone has an anovulatory impact.
