RuBisCO:

  1. Ribulose-1,5-Bisphosphate carboxylase oxygenase commonly termed RuBisCO.
  2. It is an enzyme involved in the first step of carbon fixation by the photosynthetic organisms including plants in which the atmospheric carbon dioxide is converted into high-energy molecules.
  3. Chemically it causes the carboxylation Ribulose-1,5-Bisphosphate(RuBP) to 3-Phosphoglycerate(PGA)
  4. It is the most abundant protein in the whole of the universe. It is found in the mesophyll cells of C3 plants.
