Secondary meristem:

  1. The intrafascicular cambium is the primary meristem present between the xylem and phloem in the dicot stem, and it develops from the procambium of the stem apex.
  2. At the level of intrafascicular cambium, undergo dedifferentiation and by divisions and revisions form interfascicular cambium.
  3. Both intrafascicular and interfascicular cambium join to form a continuous ring of vascular cambium known as secondary meristem.
  4. It gives rise to the secondary xylem and secondary phloem.
