Secondary neurulation:

1. It is a morphological process that accounts for the formation of the caudal spinal cord in mammals including humans.
2. It is involved in the making of the medullary cord and its subsequent hollowing into a neural tube.
3. In this process, the medullary cord is formed from the neural ectoderm and some cells from the endoderm.
4. Then, the medullary cord condenses, separates, and later on forms cavities.
5. These cavities merge together to form a single tube.
