Colour of a cell:

  1. The cells in our body are majorly colourless.
  2. This is because the molecules making up the cells like proteins and lipids, do not absorb any specific wavelength of light.
  3. When some pigment is present in the cell, it makes the cell appear a specific colour.
  4. Melanin is present in skin epidermal cells, the choroid of the eye is pigmented due to which eyes appear of different colour, RBCs are red in colour due to haemoglobin pigment, etc.
