Female Gametophyte in Angiosperms is Embryo Sac or Megagametophyte.

  1. The functional megaspore develops into the embryo sac.
  2. There are seven cells, 1 egg cell, 2 synergids, 1 secondary nucleus, and 3 antipodal cells.
  3. So, a mature female gametophyte is 7 cells and 8 nucleates.
