Reproduction in a Flowering Plant:
The first stage of reproduction in a flowering plant is transfer of gametes also known as pollination.
Flowers contain both male and female sex organs in it. The male sex organ is the stamen and the female sex organ is the pistil.
The anther in the stamen contains pollen that move towards the stigma which is present in the pistil.
There are mainly two types of pollination: Self-pollination in which pollen moves from the anther to the stigma of the same flower and Cross-pollination in which the anther moves to the stigma of another flower or plant.
