Solution

Artery:

  1. Arteries are muscular-walled tubes connected to the heart and other body parts.
  2. They support large amounts of force and pressure from your bloodstream but do not transport large amounts of blood.
  3. The aorta is the main systemic artery and the largest artery in the body and it branches off into various smaller arteries throughout the body.
  4. Arteries carry oxygen-rich blood away from the heart and deliver it to the body’s different parts.
  5. There are two main types of arteries: the pulmonary artery and the systemic artery.
  6. The pulmonary arteries carry blood from the heart to the lungs, where the blood picks up oxygen.
  7. The oxygen-rich blood is then returned to the heart through the pulmonary veins. Systemic arteries carry blood to the rest of the body.
