Polysaccharide :

  2. For example cellulose is a homopolymer (composed of one monosaccharide unit i.e. glucose).
  3. The polysaccharide such as glycogen contains two ends: Reducing end and Non-reducing end.
  4. Reducing end: The right end of the polysaccharide (Glycogen) contains the aldehyde group is called the reducing end.
  5. Non-reducing end: The left end of the polysaccharide(Glycogen) does not contain the aldehyde group thus it is called the non-reducing end.
