Cyclic Photophosphorylation:
Photophosphorylation is a process of conversion of adenosine diphosphate (ADP) to adenosine triphosphate (ATP) by using light energy from photosynthesis.
There are 2 types of photophosphorylation reactions, namely, Cyclic and Noncyclic Photophosphorylation.
Cyclic uses only one Photosystem which is Photosystem I, whereas noncyclic uses two Photosystems, PS I and PS II.
Cyclic photophosphorylation in which electrons move in a cyclic way whereas in noncyclic it forms a Z shape.
Cyclic photophosphorylation takes place in the thylakoid membrane and makes use of Photosystem I and Chlorophyll P700.
The main purpose of Cyclic Photophosphorylation is the formation of Two ATP molecules from ADP and inorganic phosphate using only Photosystem I.
