Evolution of humans:

  1. Humans are jawed vertebrates.
  2. The ancestors of jawed vertebrates were similar to that of eyeless, jawless and boneless fishes such as lampreys and hagfishes.
  3. They diverged from their immediate ancestor some 300 million years ago.
  4. The early human embryo shows similarities to embryo of any other mammal, bird or amphibian- all of which have common ancestor as fish.
