Open in App
Solution

  1. Bacteria are generally neutrophils they grow best at neutral pH close to 7.0 only acidophiles grow optimally at a pH near 3.0.
  2. Most bacteria stop growing at a pH of 4.6. However, some species have been found to thrive at pH as low as 3.5. Hence, a pH lower than 3 is ideal for killing bacteria.
