What stimulates the release of ethylene?

Open in App
Solution

Ethylene production

  1. (PGRs) are the plant growth regulator.
  2. They can be inhibitory or promote hormones.
  3. Plant growth promoters are auxins, gibberellins, and cytokinin.
  4. Ethylene is mostly an inhibitor of growth activities.
  5. It is a simple gaseous PGR.
  6. Endogenous cues (auxin, cytokinin, BA) and (a)biotic stress conditions stimulate ethylene synthesis (light, temperature, drought, hypoxia, flooding, pathogens, wounding).
  7. Ethylene has the ability to control its own production.
  8. Ethylene, as a gas, may easily spread from all plant tissues.
